The China Belgium Technology Center (CBTC) is located in Belgium, in the Louvain-la-Neuve Science Park and adjacent to the UCLouvain, ranked in the TOP 150  universities worldwide.

Thank’s to Wallonia’s logistic expertise and communication network, which is one of the most efficient in Europe, business can reach 65% of the European market in just a few hours.

For instance, a staggering 80% of Europe’s purchasing power lies within a 500 miles (800 km) radius of Brussels.

Milestones

03 / 2014

In March 2014, President Xi Jinping and former Belgian Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo witnessed the signing of the CBTC Development Cooperation Agreement during his state visit to Belgium.

06 / 2016

In June 2016, United Investment Group held the CBTC launching ceremony and press conference at the project site in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, kicking off the construction of municipals roads around the science park.

10 / 2016

In October 2016, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel visited China on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of China-Belgium diplomatic relations and emphasized that the CBTC is a successful example of China-Belgium cooperation.

2018

Building under construction. The construction has started in August 2017. Delivery of the first office spaces is planned for autumn 2021.

United Investment Group

United Investment Europe (UI Europe) is established by United Investment & Development Co.Ltd (UI Group).

UI Europe’s main role is to construct and operate the CBTC project in Europe.
During the past 20 years, the Group has built and operated nearly ten million square meters of technology parks in China and offered its services to more than 3,000 innovative companies including multinationals such as IBM and Philips.
United Investment Group currently has about thirty subsidiary companies in four countries (China, Russia, Australia and Belgium).

East Lake High-Tech Group

is a listed company under Hubei United Investment Group.

Relying on the global industrial layout, the East Lake High-tech Group has built three industrial development centers in China (Southern China, Eastern China and Central China) and one European industrial development center in Belgium. UCLouvain – Louvain-la-Neuve Science Park

Louvain-la-Neuve Science Park is presently the first, widest, and most active science park in Wallonia. By providing a perfect environment and the right connections to their innovative resident companies, the Louvain-la-Neuve Science Park maximizes their opportunities for business and development.
Located thirty kilometers away from Brussels, capital of Europe, its 231 hectares are home to over 275 companies and 6,292 jobs in sectors such as life sciences, engineering, fine chemicals, information and communication technology, and green technologies.

AWEX

The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX) is a Public Interest Organization in Wallonia created in 1998 and is mainly responsible for the development and management of Wallonia’s international economic relations. It is an essential partner for all Walloon companies wishing to develop overseas and constitutes a one-stop shop for all foreign companies interested in setting up in Wallonia or expanding their existing activities.
Its general competency is twofold, as AWEX promotes Walloon exports, where it acts as a complete partner to support the Walloon exporter. Next to this, AWEX attracts many foreign investors to Wallonia, where it acts as one-stop-shop for any potential investor.
AWEX has set up the China Welcome Office in the China Belgium Technology Center to provide services to Chinese companies. In October 2018, an awarding ceremony of China Welcome Office was held.

INBW

InBW In BW is the Intermunicipal Authority of the Walloon Brabant Province. It is the economic and environmental partner of the Province. They put their know-how at the service of municipalities, citizens and companies in several sectors of activities, such as economic, development and business services; waste management, water management and others.
